The 300 year old Abbot’s Hall was being opened to the public for the first time and required flexible interpretation to tell the many stories held within.”
The Museum of East Anglian Life (MEAL) is more than just a museum – it plays a prominent and vital role in the community.
We worked with the team at MEAL on their successful £1.7m HLF bid to develop the site in two phases and open up large areas of the estate to the public for the first time.
The Abbots Hall – a key part of the development required a flexible solution to the interpretation as it not only has to tell the story of the Hall and the important part that its inhabitants played in Stowmarket’s history; it also has to be a flexible space which can be used for functions and conferences.
“What impressed us about Bright 3D was their passion to create an environment that is more than just a museum. It is so important to preserve this historic estate, but also provide a modern day experience that allows people to discover their own heritage. Our aim is to develop a great centre for education and learning that embraces social inclusion. We also want to create a hub for the community and help drive the regeneration of the area and we will achieve this by working with Bright 3D as our partner.”
