Create a distinctive destination brand identity for Malahide Castle & Gardens”
At 900 years’ old Malahide Castle is one of Ireland’s oldest castles. Set amongst 260 acres of beautiful parkland there is plenty to see and do all year round.
As part of a major interpretive project, the team from Malahide wanted to develop a distinctive brand promoting the site as a key ‘must-see’ destination.
Following a period of detailed research and consultation with stakeholders, tourism partners, staff and most importantly locals, we developed a brand marque which reflects the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the site and sits firmly at the heart of the visitor experience.
To evoke the historic nature of the site we adopted a classic monogram approach. The ‘M’ will also aid recognition of the name Malahide as a destination. Representation has been made within the ‘M’ marque to the castle, the gardens and coast offering an insight into the unique constituent parts of the location.
The marque, design style, tone of voice and colour palette are subtly woven throughout the site – from the interpretive panels and interactive media through the exterior signage to all online and offline communications.
